Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Director of Operations who will work with the Center Director to support the philosophy and values of Creative Schools. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in Early Childhood Education to include knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices, DCDEE & Sanitation regulations, Environment Rating Scales, and NAEYC standards.
Responsibilities
- In conjunction with the Center Director, respond promptly and appropriately to parent concerns.
- Perform center tours for prospective enrollment; assist families with questions and concerns.
- Manage enrollment of children.
- Manage tuition billing and payments.
- Manage CACFP guidelines and compliance
- Perform opening and closing duties as assigned.
- Perform other Administrative duties as needed, as in the absence of Director and/or Assistant Director of Education to ensure all Center needs are met.
- Co-coordinate opportunities for families to participate in center-wide or classroom-specific activities.

- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
- Basic computer skills; familiarity with MS Word, Excel and uploading photos.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.

- Ability to train and evaluate staff.
- negotiation skills to secure favorable terms with external partners.
- Ability to respond quickly in an emergency.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds, walk, bend, stand, squat and sit on the floor through an 8-hour day.
Qualifications
- AAS in Early Childhood Education or closely related field; or an AAS with a least 12 SH in Child Development.
- Two years' experience in an administrative role or demonstration of increasing leadership responsibilities in a childcare setting.
- Current NC DCDEE Criminal Record Check.
- Knowledge of NC DCDEE and Sanitation regulations, and Environment Rating Scales.
- Knowledge of Creative Curriculum, Conscious Discipline and NAEYC standards.
