Position Overview
We are seeking a proactive, detail-oriented Assistant Property Manager to support the day-to-day operations of a dynamic mixed-use property in the vibrant Corktown neighborhood of Detroit. This position plays a key role in managing both residential and retail spaces, maintaining strong tenant relationships, coordinating maintenance and service needs, and assisting with financial and administrative functions.
Key Responsibilities
Tenant Relations & Communication
- Serve as a point of contact for residential and retail tenants.
- Assist with leasing inquiries, move-ins/move-outs, and lease renewals.
- Address and resolve tenant concerns in a professional and timely manner.
- Help plan and implement tenant engagement and retention initiatives.
Administrative & Financial Support
- Process rent payments, issue late notices, and coordinate with the accounting team.
- Manage vendor invoices and ensure timely processing.
- Assist with monthly reporting, budget preparation, and expense tracking.
- Maintain accurate tenant files, lease documentation, and internal databases.
- Support marketing and leasing efforts for residential and retail vacancies.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in property management, hospitality, or customer service.
- Experience with mixed-use properties or urban residential/retail environments preferred.
- Proficiency in property management software (e.g., Yardi, MRI, AppFolio, or similar).
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently while thriving in a team-oriented environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
