Job Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Beertender to join our team in a vibrant and fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for craft beer and exceptional customer service skills. As a Beertender, you will be responsible for serving a variety of beers, engaging with customers, and ensuring a memorable experience for all guests.
Responsibilities Include:
· Be an ambassador to the Brand.
· Create a welcoming and hospitable environment for our customers.
· Maintain a clean workspace, bar, bathrooms and tables before, during and after hours of operation.
· Provide excellent customer service including upselling techniques to increase sales opportunities.
· Ability to work independently while also being a team player at times when working together as a group.
· Ensure Safe and secure environment at all times including managing over-consumption, handling conflict resolution with customers, supervising vendors and others as needed. Document issues and communicate with Owner and Manager.
· Additional tasks as assigned.
· Enforce all policies, local, state and federal laws and regulations within the Taproom.
· POS system knowledge and operations. Manage transactional issues including credits, refunds, loading gift cards, discounts as needed.
· Troubleshoot POS issues as they arise and notifying management of issues.
· Utilize craft beer knowledge to ensure proper pouring & serving of the beers, educating the customer and observing an overall respect of the product we serve.
· Maintain daily cleanliness of the Taproom, patio, draft cooler and all surrounding areas.
· Quality control. Tasting beers daily for quality (look, smell, taste) and taking corrective action as needed and notifying management of issues.
· Ability to follow established SOPs for opening and closing including cleaning, restocking, updating inventory as needed.
· Ability to add new items to inventory and perform occasional maintenance and updates, as needed, to POS, digital board and print menus.
· Cash drawer management to include daily counting and opening of cash drawer, end-of-day reconciling, cash tip distribution and monitor change throughout the day and notify management when low.
· Spot check Taproom Inventory regularly of small wares, cleaning supplies, consumables (food & non-alcoholic beverages), Crowling cans and merchandise. Notify management of low inventory on any items.
· Interface with food suppliers, vendors, live music/bands, etc as needed to assist with setup for events.
Position Requirements:
· Minimum 1 year of experience working in craft beer / brewery. Or minimum 1 year of experience working in the food & beverage industry in a role directly involved with customer interaction.
· Flexibility to work shifts as assigned including longer shifts and weekends, as needed including ability to call-outs and no-shows.
· Consistent and effective communication. Ability to use sound judgement to know appropriate times to communicate with Owner / Manager.
Preferred:
· Progressive thinker. Ability to assist in evolving SOPs for Open, Closing, Cleaning, Inventory and Daily procedures based on best practices and to increase efficiencies.
· Awareness of the brand and ability to help further opportunities to grow the brand.
· Ability to work both independently based on established SOPs as well as being able to understand team dynamics to work effectively as a member of a group.
Compensation:
· Bar shifts paid hourly, based on experience + pooled tips.
· Administrative time paid hourly (exempt from tip pooling).
· This is a non-exempt position and overtime will be paid at 1.5x the compensation rate for any hours over 40 in a given pay period.

Pay: $11.00 - $13.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 35 per week
