We're looking for a motivated individual to join our service team.
The person in this position inspects, services, and maintains gasoline boat engines of different varieties in accordance with manufacturer and company regulations, diagnoses engine malfunctions, and makes indicated repairs using hand tools, measuring instruments, and special tools. They will operate boats to verify repairs and proper function. Marine Technician experience is preferred but we are willing to assist with cross training from Professional Automotive, Diesel, and 12 volt specialist type areas of expertise.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and training requirements.
- Perform inspections, servicing, and maintenance on watercraft and company equipment, including but not limited to performing scheduled and preventative maintenance as determined by company policy; fueling, checking, and changing oil and fluid levels; changing filters, draining bad fuel, and lube oil; replacing and maintaining engine components, trailer wheels and bearings, and truck components; and washing and cleaning up his or her work area upon job completion.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions in boat engines, electrical systems, stereos, or other components; repair or replace as necessary.
- Perform minor fiberglass and gelcoat repairs as necessary, including some light fabrication as needed.
- Operate forklifts, boat hoists, power tools, and special tools while working inside and outside in all weather conditions, and in confined spaces.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- Boat operating and handling a strong plus but willing to train the right individual
- Knowledge of watercraft a strong plus
- Relevant mechanic/technician background
- Ability to read and comprehend written and oral instructions
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR CREDENTIALS:
- High school diploma or GED
- At least eighteen years of age
- Valid driver’s license
- Basic hand tool kit required on day one inquire for specifics
- Will provide basic hand tool kit if discussed in terms of employment
