Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Boat Captain to lead our vessel operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities and a deep understanding of maritime navigation and safety protocols. As a Boat Captain, you will be responsible for managing the crew, ensuring the safety of passengers, and maintaining the vessel in optimal condition.
Duties
- Navigate the boat safely through various waterways, adhering to all maritime laws and regulations.
- Conduct pre-departure inspections to ensure the vessel is seaworthy and ready for operation.
- Communicate effectively with crew members and passengers regarding safety protocols and operational procedures.
- Respond promptly to emergencies or unexpected situations, demonstrating strong decision-making skills.
- Maintain accurate logs of operations, including navigation routes, weather conditions, and equipment usage.
Qualifications
- Valid captain's license as required by local regulations (e.g., USCG license).
- Strong mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and manage onboard equipment effectively.
- Ability to rig equipment as needed for various operations or activities on the water.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with an emphasis on safety communication.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed for operational demands.
