The Strategic Sourcing Department at LifeBridge Health Sinai Hospital in Baltimore, MD, is responsible for managing the procurement and purchasing processes for goods and services needed by the hospital.
Role of the Buyer:
The Buyer works with minimal supervision to handle the procurement process for supplies and services needed across LifeBridge facilities. Responsibilities include conducting research, negotiating contracts, and collaborating with contract analysts to evaluate vendor performance and explore cost-saving opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Requisition and Order Processing: Prepares and processes requisitions for various commodities, equipment, and services. This involves ensuring all signature blocks are properly signed and orders are submitted for processing in the Lawson system (the hospital’s purchasing platform).
- Cost Center and Ledger Management: Verifies that cost centers and general ledger codes are assigned correctly for each product requested, ensuring proper budget tracking and financial oversight.
Requirements:
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- Experience: 1–3 years of relevant experience in procurement or sourcing, though it may be flexible depending on the candidate’s skills and background.
