We seek a critical-thinking, self-motivated problem-solver with strong attention to detail to join our dynamic remote team as a Campaign Finance Reporting Technical Specialist. A successful candidate will expertly collaborate with a remote team, make complex analyses and decisions, be skilled in research and legalese, and be discreet.
What You'll be Working on
- Converting federal, state, and local financial disclosure requirements into formal specifications (using XML-based definitions).
- Ensuring proper calculations with complicated categorization rules and edge accounting challenges.
- Forensic accounting: finding edge-case accounting exceptions in our calculations.
- Working with agencies to clarify regulations and efiling rules.
- Thinking fast and problem-solving when facing same-day filing deadlines.
- Identifying common sense solutions when agency rules are unclear or unavailable.
- Working with Compliance and Development teams to resolve client data or functionality issues.
- Working with the Support team to assist clients with Compliance questions or needs.

Experience
While not required, preferred candidates will have some FEC or state campaign finance reporting experience and/or a background working in a paid position for a campaign. Experience with investigative problem-solving, especially forensic accounting or other auditing, is highly valued, as is experience with government-regulated reporting.
Compensation and Benefits
This is a salaried position, Monday through Friday, generally 40 hours per week with rare nights and weekends. We are a virtual company, so you can work from home or in the coffee shop/co-working space of your choice. You need strong Wi-Fi and an environment in which you can focus.
The salary for the Campaign Finance Reporting Technical Specialist is in a range that begins at $65,000 and rises commensurate with experience.
