Client Account Manager

About the Role
We're not looking for a typical “account manager.”
We're looking for someone who can walk into a client meeting, listen actively, read the room, and help people feel confident in the IT decisions they’re making—even if they’re not “tech people.” Someone who can translate technology into business outcomes. Someone who understands how cybersecurity, cloud, and compliance affect the bottom line. And most importantly, someone who builds real trust.
At IntermixIT, we support CPA firms, law offices, municipalities, and other professional organizations by serving as their outsourced IT department. This role is about owning those client relationships—not just keeping them happy, but helping them grow.
What You'll Be Doing
- Serve as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of client accounts
- Lead regular strategy calls, updates, and face-to-face meetings
- Understand each client’s business goals and ensure our technology solutions are aligned
- Break down complex technical topics into clear, simple language that clients can act on
- Set expectations, communicate timelines, and make sure nothing falls through the cracks
- Identify opportunities for additional services that genuinely solve business problems
- Monitor client satisfaction and resolve any issues before they escalate
- Partner closely with our service, projects, and leadership teams to deliver excellent support

- You understand how technology fits into a bigger business picture
- You can explain complex things in plain English—no jargon
What You Bring to the Table
- 3+ years in client-facing roles (account management, consulting, B2B sales, etc.)
- Familiarity with the IT world, preferably MSP, SaaS, or professional services
- Experience speaking to C-suite decision-makers or senior stakeholders
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365 and CRM tools
- A knack for simplifying technical language without losing credibility
