About the Job
This person will be responsible for cash applications of all MLC divisions, credit sales, shortages, deductions, and returns. The purpose of this role is to approve cash applications to maximize sales and initiate collection activity to minimize past due accounts.
- Download receipts from Bank website and post all cash receipts by end of day for the prior day's receipts.
- Run internal report processes and assist with maintenance of all credit files.
- Reconcile all remaining unposted receipts, request proper documentation from internal departments and present to customer to secure payment.
- Identifies collection irregularities including short payments and disputes.
- Completes month-end closing procedures.
- Closely monitors aged accounts and initiates steps to prevent late payments. Provide relevant documentation to customer to secure payment.
- Regularly reviews status of collections to assure that receivables are in a sound condition.
- Monitor Credit department email box and provide requested documentation; Provide requested documentation (invoices, statements, PODs, etc.) per customer requests.
- Employees are expected to perform other responsibilities as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Some relevant college level business courses in Accounting principle preferred.
- Experience: 3-5 years of related experience in Accounts Receivable required.
- Knowledge: Strong knowledge of Accounts Receivable and Credit Collections required. Additional knowledge of Commence Banking Websites a plus.
- Skills: Account reconciliation, customer service, critical and analytical thinking, and basic computer skills required. MS Office skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Abilities: Able to communicate to internal departments, manage department email box, and learn specific MLC software.
- Behaviors: Candidate must be willing to work under minimal supervision at times and be a team player with a problem-solving mentality.
