Job Summary
Located at the Main Campus, the Coordinator, New Student Enrollment will facilitate outreach efforts to prospective students throughout Illinois and targeted cities. The Coordinator, New Student Enrollment will coordinate Rock Valley College recruitment strategies and other initiatives to prospective students and will act as the primary contact for adult and nontraditional students and assigned geographical territory of responsibility. In addition, they will also conduct recruiting activities in other selected areas as necessary. The Coordinator, New Student Enrollment will demonstrate an understanding of the enrollment cycle. They will assist prospective students and the parents in their transition to Rock Valley College. The Coordinator, New Student Enrollment will have recruitment goals to focus on developing and implementing recruitment and marketing strategies designed to meet the needs of the adult population and nontraditional students. The Coordinator, New Student Enrollment’s primary focus will be on working with traditional, non-traditional students, businesses and community-based organizations. The Coordinator, New Student Enrollment will be evaluated on recruitment conversion and best practices. A focus in developing and implementing recruitment and marketing strategies designed to meet the needs of the adult population or nontraditional students.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Related duties may be assigned.
1. The Coordinator, New Student Enrollment is the first line of contact for the school and must maintain a professional appearance at all times.
2. Conduct themselves in a professional manner and hold true the core values of Rock Valley College and collaborate with others.
3. Develop, manage and maintain contact with schools and appropriate community agencies to reach prospective students.
4. Track students through the admission funnel to ensure communication of necessary steps to enroll at RVC.
5. Provide feedback and detailed reports on any recruitment activities weekly, daily, monthly.
6. Work together with colleagues to communicate and execute best practices in territory management.
7. Coordinate recruitment activities including outreach efforts, campus visits, presentations to large and small groups, etc.
8. Demonstrate and possess a strong understanding of cultural competency, and how to communicate effectively to different audiences.
9. Provide support for any student support initiative on or off campus to recruit and retain students at RVC.
10. Ensure all students in assigned territory are aware of deadlines, application procedures, and financial aid eligibility criteria.
11. Assist in analyzing application and enrollment trends to proactively respond and adjust territory recruitment strategies.
12. Assist Academic & Career Advising during peak times by advising new students.
13. May be asked to advise targeted programs upon request.
14. Make referrals to students for career advising, academic advising, and/or personal counseling.
15. Understand FAFSA deadlines, process, procedures, and changes in order to accurately advise students.
16. Collaborate with Student Support Service departments to accomplish enrollment goals of the college.
17. Lead in the development of recruitment initiatives in region to be conducted with schools and individual one-on-one meetings throughout the year to discuss the Getting Started steps.
18. Independently schedule and deliver presentations at area schools, businesses, libraries and social service agencies as assigned.
19. Conduct outreach to prospective students and families using telephone and other current technologies.
20. Communicate and respond to student inquiries in a timely manner.
21. Meet with prospective students and families to help them get started at RVC and conduct campus tours.
22. Assist in the development and implementation of recruitment plans, based on data analysis and integrated with marketing strategies for the college.
23. Assist in the coordination of timely tele-counseling efforts to all student groups.
24. Maintain student confidentiality and adhere to FERPA regulations.
25. Maintain knowledge of current research information related to traditional learner needs and trends and share information learned with the Enrollment Services team.
26. Maintain on a daily bases the college’s database systems.
27. Special projects as assigned by the Manager of Recruit or Associate Vice President of Recruitment and Retention.
28. Evening and weekend work will be required.
29. Serve on RVC committees as needed.
30. Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager of Recruit or Associate Vice President of Recruitment and Retention.
31. Regular attendance is expected.
32. Using tact and courtesy, the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with persons contacted in the course of work
