Title: Development Coordinator

Reports to: Director of Development

Location: Catholic Charities, Diocese of Venice in Florida Inc. | Venice, Florida

Classification: Salaried/Exempt

Overview

The Development Coordinator is responsible for supporting the Development Team with donor cultivation events, the coordination of annual galas, and a capital campaign. The coordinator will further our mission by engaging in community events to increase donor and volunteer involvement throughout our ten counties.

Job Responsibilities
  • Work cohesively with the development team to enhance the visibility and awareness of Catholic Charities Diocese of Venice services across the Diocese.
  • Organize and participate in cultivation events at regional sites.
  • Coordinate timeline and run of show responsibilities for annual galas.
  • Identify and secure sponsorships for special events.
  • Oversee timely donor correspondence and stewardship.
  • Enhance volunteer engagement and committee involvement.
  • Develop a plan to recognize key supporters.
  • Participate and assist in the development of event committees.
  • Work collaboratively with regional staff to meet annual gala and event objectives.
  • Exhibit sensitivity to the service population's cultural, social, and socio-economic characteristics.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all records and apply discretion and appropriate security measures in the handling of confidential information.
  • Ensure services delivered are in alignment with Catholic Charities' mission, policies, procedures, and service philosophy.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Prior nonprofit development experience required.
  • Ability to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major gifts.
  • Event management experience is highly preferred.
  • Ability to navigate event and fundraising platforms.
  • Time management, organization, attention to detail, and follow-up skills necessary.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively internally and outside of the organization.
  • Excellent presentation, verbal, and written communication skills required.
  • Ability to work in a self-directed environment, adhere to timelines, and meet targets.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Ability to work occasion evenings or weekends.
  • Must pass a Level II FDLE/FBI background screening with satisfactory results.
