Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team at Friends of New Milford, Inc. In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals in their daily activities, ensuring they receive the care and assistance needed to thrive in their homes and communities.
Responsibilities
- Assist individuals with daily living skills, including personal hygiene, meal preparation.
- Monitor the health and well-being of clients, reporting any changes or concerns to administration.
- Facilitate community involvement by supporting clients in recreational activities and outings.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the quality of life for individuals under your care.
- Collaborate with families and other professionals to develop personalized care plans that meet each individual's needs.
- Maintain accurate records of services provided and progress made by clients.
Requirements
- Experience in caregiving or direct support roles is preferred, but will train right candidates.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and team members.
- Ability to provide compassionate care while respecting individual choices and dignity.
- Hours: Tuesday Thursday, 7am-3pm, Saturday 3pm- 11pm, Sunday 7am-3pm.
- Hourly rate depends on experience.
