Greenwood House Home for the Jewish Aged is a not-for-profit 137 bed skilled nursing facility that has served the community for over 70 years in Ewing, NJ. Greenwood House is seeking a dependable, organized and diligent Director of Facilities Management to join our team. This position is responsible for all aspects of the physical plant, grounds maintenance and Housekeeping.
Primary Responsibilities include:
- Ensure the facility remains free of hazards and in compliance with all Federal, State and Local rules and regulations.
- Oversee the team of the Maintenance and Housekeeping Dept. ensuring tasks are delegated and completed daily.
- Ensure all mandatory inspections of physical plant systems are scheduled, conducted timely, and maintain records of these inspections.
- Be familiar with all equipment used in the facility including HVAC, boilers, water heaters, emergency generator, laundry, plumbing, electrical, and fire alarm systems.
- Be familiar with Life Safety and OSHA rules and regulations.
- Schedules outside vendors for assistance in repairing equipment or to perform preventive maintenance when necessary.
Qualifications/Skills/Educational Requirements:
- Long Term Care experience preferred
- Strong Electrical or HVAC experience sought
- Strong LTC/SNF experience/managerial skills/HVAC/ELEC/OR PLUMBING
- On call responsibilities
- Scheduling experience
- Always must adhere to infection control and safety standards.
- Pushing/pulling/lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds.
- Valid New Jersey driver's license required
- Certification in the maintenance management field preferred.
- At least two (2) years’ experience in area of assignment
- Time management and communication skills are a must.
- Ability to be available off normal business hours to respond to facility emergencies.
- Experience in long term care settings is required for this position.
