Superior Mobile Health posting for a NIGHT-SHIFT DISPATCHER - Req#25-023
This is a Full-time, Non-Exempt position with the Dispatch Department
Night Shift 6pm-6am. (2-2-3 / Rotating Sundays) schedule - The Dispatcher evaluates incoming calls to determine the appropriate level of EMS assistance required, dispatching units, and transmitting information and messages upon request and/or according to established procedures
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Operates an EMS Computer-Aided Dispatching console of a multi-button telephone system, base radio, cell phone, and computer terminal.
- Answer incoming calls and extract necessary information from callers.
- Address customer concerns and provide alternative solutions.
- Evaluates incoming calls to determine the nature and urgency of the call.
- Dispatches the appropriate EMS unit(s).
- Ensure that all appropriate notes are documented properly.
- Keeps track of the status and location of all EMS personnel and vehicles.
- Contacts outside agencies to coordinate aid if needed.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding any patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations, as well as any sensitive company and employee information
- Experience in medical terminology is preferred, but not necessary as training will be provided.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Learn Dispatch organization, policies, and operating procedures.

- Must be punctual and reliable.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Current Texas driver's license.
- Current Healthcare Provider level CPR certification.
- General knowledge of locations of highways and main streets.
- Strong ability to multi-task and maintain composure and decision-making skills during times of great stress.
- Work evenings, night, weekends, and holidays to maintain 24-hour coverage of the emergency dispatch system.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
- Preferred experience as an EMT.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:
Working conditions are in an office environment. Physical requirements include lifting up to 25 pounds occasionally. Subject to sitting, standing and walking for long periods of time. Requires speech, hearing and visual acuity.
