Do you love working with dogs and have professional experience as a dog bather/assistant groomer?
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dog Bather/groomer assistant to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality bathing services and nail trims to pets, ensuring their comfort and well-being throughout the process. Ideal candidates will have a passion for animals and possess skills in animal handling and care.
Duties
- Bath and dry dogs according to their specific needs, ensuring a clean and healthy coat. Trim nails.
- Handle various breeds of dogs with care and confidence.
- Maintain a safe and sanitary environment for dogs during bathing sessions.
- Assist in drying/heat drying and brushing dogs as required.
- Monitor the behavior of dogs during their visit to ensure their comfort and safety.
- Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their dog’s grooming needs and any observed health issues.
- Keep grooming tools, equipment and bathing area clean and well-maintained.
- Provide basic animal care services.
- Checking in and checking out clients, ensuring a smooth and timely service. Front desk and social media experience a plus!
Requirements
- Experience in veterinary, grooming salon setting or previous pet grooming or bathing is preferred.
- Strong skills in animal handling, restraint, and care.
- Knowledge of trimming and dremeling dogs nails, clean dog's ears and brushing their teeth.
- Ability to work with various breeds of dogs comfortably.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with pet owners and staff effectively.
- A genuine love for animals and commitment to their well-being.
- Physical stamina to handle the demands of the job, including standing for long periods and lifting pets when necessary.
- Previous experience in kennel or animal care settings is advantageous.
- Must be able to life 50lbs and handle above.
