We are building an innovative, collaborative team who will help shape the future of care at Med Center Health. The Epic Program Director role will lead both the initial implementation and the continued maintenance and optimization of Epic following go-live.
Position Summary
The Epic Program Director is the senior leader responsible for the successful implementation, go-live, and ongoing management of Med Center Health’s Epic electronic health record (EHR) system. This role provides strategic vision, executive oversight, and operational leadership to ensure the Epic program delivers on its goals of improving patient care, enhancing provider workflows, and achieving organizational efficiencies.
The Epic Program Director oversees all program phases—from planning and design, through build, testing, training, and go-live, to post-implementation optimization and long-term system governance. This position is accountable for program scope, budget, timelines, staffing, and vendor relationships, ensuring seamless coordination across clinical, operational, and IT teams. By fostering collaboration, managing change effectively, and driving continuous improvement, the Epic Program Director ensures Epic remains an effective, evolving platform that meets the needs of the organization for years to come.
Key Responsibilities
- Leads collaboration with executives, operational leaders, and clinical stakeholders to define program objectives, priorities, and scope.
- Oversees all project workstreams, ensuring Epic build, configuration, and testing meet both vendor standards and organizational goals.
- Directs go-live readiness efforts, cutover planning, and execution, ensuring a smooth transition for all users.
- Establishes and lead post-go-live support and optimization initiatives, ensuring system stability, performance, and continuous improvement.
- Monitors program performance, risks, and outcomes, implementing strategies to maximize system benefits and meet clinical, operational, and financial goals.
- Ensure comprehensive program documentation, including governance processes, decision-making records, and program performance reports.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Information Systems, or a related field required; Master’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related discipline preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 4 years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare IT or EHR implementation required; prior Epic implementation leadership strongly preferred.
- Certification: Epic training and certification will be provided at no cost in exchange for a 2 year work commitment.
