Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and friendly Front Desk Receptionist to join our medical office team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for our patients, providing exceptional customer service and administrative support. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, excellent communication skills, and proficiency in various electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Duties
- Greet and assist patients as they arrive at the clinic, ensuring a welcoming environment.
- Manage multi-line phone systems to handle incoming calls, schedule appointments, and respond to inquiries.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Perform insurance verification and assist with medical billing processes.
- Utilize EMR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, and Dentrix for patient management.
- Review care plans and medical records to ensure completeness and accuracy.
- Handle clerical tasks including filing, typing, and data entry using Microsoft Office applications.
- Support medical coding processes by understanding CPT coding and ICD-9/ICD-10 classifications.
- Provide administrative support to healthcare providers as needed.
- Assist with intake procedures for new patients, ensuring all necessary information is collected.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Experience with medical insurance, referral processes, and benefit plans
- 1 year of recent experience working in an outpatient clinic or medical office setting
- Ability to read, understand, and respond to detailed oral and written instructions
- Experience with CS-Link/Epic
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2+ years’ recent experience working as a Patient Service Representative
- Understanding of medical terminology
