General scope of work:
As a leading hospitality company, we are looking for experienced dynamic Maintenance Technician for Hampton Inn Lancaster Hotel, Ohio. The Maintenance Technician position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain hotel rooms, assets, equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the hotel performance and guest satisfaction and play a vital role for the hotel to achieve business goals.
Part I: Position Summary:
The Maintenance Technician develops, performs, coordinates, and documents all maintenance aspects of the hotel building, grounds and utility systems. Major emphasis on heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), refrigeration, boilers, hot and chilled water loop chemistry, plumbing, and electrical systems using a Preventative Maintenance Computerized Management System. The Maintenance Technician is responsible to address other maintenance issues in areas of carpentry, painting, plumbing and other hotel day-to-day maintenance issues. Is responsible for collecting equipment data, updating, developing, implementing, and monitoring preventive maintenance programs for hotel building, rooms, grounds and utility systems. Will perform these preventative maintenance activities in accordance with policies, strategies and plans established by company. We seek an individual who has successful experience in working with hospitality industry or at least a similar field. The selected candidate must demonstrate a commitment to perfection and meeting deadlines.
Part III: Major Duties and Responsibilities (depending on specific assignment):
Duties include, but are not limited to the following:
- Ability to interact with supervisors, staff, vendors, and guests using a positive collaborative approach.
- Ability to consistently complete assigned work while attending to multiple tasks and prioritizing projects to meet deadlines as directed.
- Ability to problem solve and engage necessary staff/supervisors to address emerging facility issues.
- Initiative and ability to work with minimal direction/monitoring; sound judgment and decision-making capabilities are essential.
- General knowledge and ability in: repairs, installation, modification, and maintenance of plumbing fixtures in heating, water and drainage systems.
- General knowledge of building construction and all related framing components, subsystems.
- General knowledge of line voltage and low voltage electrical systems, plumbing, carpentry, cabinetry, locksmith/door/hardware, painting, welding skills, and mechanical equipment/HVAC systems, fire/security systems and maintenance trades.
- General knowledge of maintenance/grounds equipment operation, maintenance and repair.
- Ability to maintain confidential information.
- Ability to operate computers and learn specific software programs.
- Demonstrate sensitivity to the cultural, ethnic, gender, and religious diversity of guests and staff.
- Ability to support and value the efforts of ongoing cultural community projects and events.
- Must model and maintain exemplary attendance and punctuality.
- Required to follow hotel and company policies and stay abreast of update and changes.
- Performs other duties as assigned by management and/or designee.
- Identifies preventive maintenance issues in the hotel and submits plans to address them.
- Follows preventive maintenance plan in all aspects, meets deadline and keeps records for progress.
- Submits and discusses reports of progress with management.
Part IV: Minimum Qualifications:
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Maintenance certificate in related field.
- Successful recent work experience in hotels or a field related to this position.
- Proven computer and communication skills.
- Valid Driver’s License.

- Supervisory skills.

- The employee is required to maintain a professional hotel appearance at all times whilst in duty. The employee is requested is requested to follow the company grooming standards:
- Wearing the hotel uniform in fresh and clean condition.
- Reasonably short hair & well combed.

- Clean hands & nails.
- Clean shoes.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to bend, crawl, climb, sit, talk, move about, hear and speak.
- May be required to work in restricted spaces, and/or under difficult lighting and access conditions. Noise level may be high when operating power equipment.
- Employee may be exposed to outside weather conditions especially in emergency repair situations.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds and more than 60 pounds using appropriate equipment.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Employee is required to properly use such safety equipment as is appropriate to the work to prevent injury to self or others.
- The employee is required to demonstrate and practice minimum courtesy standards while interacting with colleagues and guests.
