Job Summary – This role involves delivery of hands-on training sessions, providing guidance on best welding practices, assisting with the employee onboarding process, and cross departmental collaboration. The Mfg. Weld Trainer also balances production, ensures safety protocols, mentor new employees on best practices, and participates in FEM / LEAN events. The role requires operating manufacturing equipment, power tools, and written robotic programs. Candidates should possess experience in manufacturing, strong communication skills, and a passion for teaching. The role demands physical stamina and the ability to work in a manufacturing environment with noise, heat, and heavy machinery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ability to deliver hands on training sessions.
- Administer forklift / crane practical exams.
- Administer various weld tests.
- Assist in onboarding new employees.
- Assist in sustaining FEM program.
- Assist with balancing production when required.
- Assist with documentation of best practices / course creation.
- Assist with the upkeep of safety protocols. • Cross-facility collaborations (travel).
- Explain / demonstrate proper use of task related software.
- Mentor and coach employees on best practices and proper operations.
- Operate mfg. equipment.
- Operate power tools.
- Participate in lean events.
- Provide feedback and report training progress.
- Provide guidance to welders with best practices / suggested weld settings.
- Provide weld exams to new employees / interviewees.
- Work alongside training team to assist in material creation.
- Write basic robotic programs.
Qualifications:
Educational Background:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Teaching experience preferred.
Experience:
- Basic understanding of the mfg. shop floor processes.
- Familiarity with basic lean manufacturing methodologies.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a welding environment.
- Possess a rudimentary computer skillset.
- Read and interpret shop drawings.

Welding Capabilities:
- Advanced understanding of weld standards.
- Pass both stainless and carbon 1G, 2G, 2F, and 6G weld tests with given WPS.
- Proficient knowledge on the GMAW, GTAW, and FCAW processes.
