Job Overview
We are a boutique medical malpractice law firm seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Paralegal to join our litigation team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience preparing Bills of Particulars and be well-versed in medical malpractice procedures. This role requires exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage a high-volume caseload in a fast-paced environment. The paralegal will work closely with attorneys to support all phases of litigation, from intake to trial preparation.
Responsibilities
- Draft and finalize Bills of Particulars, ensuring legal accuracy, responsiveness, and adherence to deadlines.
- Assist attorneys in preparing other legal documents such as summons and complaints, discovery responses, motions, and trial materials.
- Review and summarize medical records, incident reports, and deposition transcripts.
- Maintain and organize litigation files using document management systems.
- Manage and track case deadlines, court appearances, and expert schedules.
- Communicate professionally with clients, medical providers, and opposing counsel.
- Prepare materials for and assist with trials, including exhibit binders and witness lists.
- Conduct legal and medical research as needed to support case development.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in medical malpractice litigation, preferably on the plaintiff side.
- Significant experience drafting Bills of Particulars in New York state courts.
- Familiarity with New York CPLR and legal procedures governing personal injury and med mal cases.
- Strong proficiency in case management software (e.g., SmartAdvocate, Clio, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication skills, including professional phone etiquette and client-facing interaction.
- Highly organized with the ability to prioritize multiple cases and deadlines.
- Proactive, resourceful, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $47,474.16 - $57,173.18 per year
