As Assistant Grower you will work with our Head Grower to help supervise all Nursery and Perennial Growing staff.
- Knowledge of trees, shrubs and perennials grown in Colorado
- Ability to train nursery and perennials growing staff
- Ability to organize and supervise all of nursery & perennial growing needs
- Must be a team player with the ability to work well independently
- Ability to maintain a friendly and helpful work environment
- Responsible for communicating with all coworkers as needed
- Will need to be a certified pesticide applicator
- Responsible for keeping department clean and organized
Weekly Responsibilities:
- Maintains the plants in good condition
- Unloads, organizes, and checks in plant shipments
- Prints labels for all nursery and perennials grown on site
- Inspects crops several times a day
- Fill out scouting reports for all plants that have insects or diseases
- Apply pesticides and herbicides as needed
- Creates weekly staff schedules and coordinates break schedules
- Communicate and supervise current projects with staff
Responsible for Supervising all nursery and perennial:
- Potting and growing
- Watering
- Stocking
- Pruning of nursery stock and roses
- Winter carryover of nursery and perennial stock
Minimum Requirements:
- Must be able to work 40 + hours a week.
- Must be able to work weekends.
- Must be able to lift 80 pounds.
- Must be able to work in varying temperatures.
- Must be able to crouch/bend and be on feet for long periods of time.
