POSITION SUMMARY: As a Nursing Home Administrator, you will oversee the total day-to-day operations of your facility in accordance with the current federal, state, and local government regulations that govern residential care facilities. This exciting role is responsible for developing effective operational strategy and directing the team to assure residents receive the consistently high-quality care we are committed to delivering.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- Required: High school diploma or equivalent
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or related field
License/Registration/Certification:
- Required: Iowa license as Nursing Home Administrator (LNHA)
- Required: BLS
- Required: NIMS ICS 100, 200, & 700 Certification or within six months of hire
- Required: Current and valid Iowa Driver’s License
Experience:
- Preferred: 2+ years as Licensed Nursing Home Administrator in a LTC, SNF, Sub-Acute, or similar setting
- Preferred: Management/Supervisory experience

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Makes routine rounds throughout the center to assure that an optimum level of resident care is provided: the environment is being maintained in a safe and sanitary fashion, systems are in place, and that employees are appropriately attired and receiving appropriate supervisions.
- Develops an annual budget to show the expected revenue and operational expenditures.
- Develops, establishes, and maintains resident census at optimal levels
- Implements policies established by Organization; leads the formation of policies and reports on implementation of policies related to the care center.
- Prepares an operating plan for the achievement of the center’s specific objectives and mutually established goals and periodically reviews and evaluates the plan.
- Participates in public relations and marketing plans and programs.
- Reviews operating results of the organization, compare them to established objectives, and take steps to ensure that appropriate measures are taken to correct unsatisfactory results.
- Ensures the center maintains accreditation, licensing, and quality resident care through the establishment of quality/performance improvement monitoring programs and standards.
- Ensures maintenance of physical property is in a good and safe state of repair and operation.
- Supervises the business affairs of the center to ensure that funds are collected and expended to the best possible advantage.
- Ensures contractual agreements are approved.
- Presents reports reflecting the services and financial activities of the center and other required special reports.
- Coordinates with the Board of Directors and hospital leadership on a strategic plan that reflects the center’s mission statement and is in accordance with ethics and goals of the organization.
