Overnight Professional Support Staff
Who should apply? I hire calm, thoughtful of others' perspectives, and open-minded
individuals, who can see me as very capable despite my physical limitations. My
Support Staff need to be able to follow some routines as well as go with the flow. These two
qualities enable me to live the amazing life that I have created for myself while receiving
physical assistance per my request.
What to expect for 11pm – 8am? For this overnight shift, you can sleep lightly after I am in
bed around 12am. You are expected to respond to the occasional need that I have
overnight. Note: You will receive paid hands-on training in the evening hours 5pm –
12am. During the training shifts you will observe, practice, and then help me with
everyday personal care, housework, cat care, going places, having enough personal
space while being in earshot, and being a self-starter when attending the shift chores.
Who am I? I am a novelist and digital artist with a doctorate in developmental
psychology from the University of Washington. In 2018, I moved to Colorado from
Washington State, because Washington implemented laws that squashed the basic
human rights and personal freedom of people who are considered disabled.
Given my efforts to have personal freedom, I greatly value support staff who enable me
to exercise personal choice, boundaries, and my own lifestyle.
