Emerald Youth Foundation has multiple paid positions available in the in their JustLead afterschool programs this school year. This is a great opportunity to make a big difference in your life and in the lives of those around you. It’s a chance to apply your skills and ideals toward helping others and meeting critical needs in the community - Knoxville. It is not employment, but national service. We've unpacked the AmeriCorps positions, living allowance, and education award amounts in more detail below.
BENEFITS:
- GET PAID UP TO $10,135 (called a living allowance) and serve approx. 15-20 hours afterschool each week.
- RECEIVE TRAINING through Emerald Youth University and participate in fun, team-building activities.

POSITIONS:
Three kinds of AmeriCorps positions are available afterschool with Emerald Youth this year. Ideal availability is between the hours of 2:00 and 6:00 p.m., Monday – Friday:
- General Afterschool Role - Lead varying structured learning and enrichment activities afterschool with elementary or middle school students.
- Learning Role - Perfect for aspiring teachers and/or to fulfill a teaching practicum. Facilitate components of and implement incentives for elementary and middle school students as part of the on-site computer learning lab.
- RecSports Role - Perfect for those interested in sports, health, and fitness. Plan and implement structured health and recreational activities for both elementary and middle school students.

What is Emerald Youth?
We are a Christian ministry serving city kids since 1991. Every year, Emerald Youth serves more than 3,000 children, teens, and young adults in the heart of Knoxville through faith, learning, and health programs. Emerald Youth's AmeriCorps members serve in the afterschool and summer programs of JustLead.
