Turing is looking for an exceptional Paralegal and legal operations manager to join its legal team.  The ideal candidate has experience in litigation and disputes, as well as a mix of law firm and in-house corporate experience.  The ideal candidate is tech savvy and used to working in fast-paced startup environments.

Responsibilities:

• Assisting with the implementation as well as the enhancement of legal and compliance policies including: data retention, privacy, security, legal billing, and management.
• Identifying legal operations needs and solutions
• Identifying scalable legal operations tech tools and implementing them.
• Actively managing legal bills and outside counsel spending, eventually leveraging tech tools & data to do so.
• Assisting with research and investigations including gathering information and preparing draft reports at the direction of counsel.
• Representing the Legal dept in cross-functional meetings.
• Managing Turing Legal’s institutional knowledge and historical advice
• SLA identification, reporting, and driving team accountability
• Preparing department reports for leadership to increase accountability and identify opportunities to increase efficiency. 
• Managing Legal programming (e.g. legal & compliance training- company wide)
• Support in administering Turing’s stock plan 
• Other paralegal and litigation support work as necessary

Qualifications:

• 5+ years paralegal experience ideally with a mix of law firm and in-house legal departments at a technology start up, including 2+ years experience in Legal Operations
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; Paralegal certification from an ABA-approved program preferred.
• Demonstrated experience supporting litigation, disputes, and compliance processes.
• Strong knowledge of document retention policies, litigation holds, and discovery procedures
• Skilled in building and managing data preservation policies, including tracking and deploying litigation holds.
• Experience collaborating with e-discovery vendors to extract and manage data in disputes.
• Proficient in managing shared drives, team document repositories, and responding to legal inquiries.
• Familiarity with legal billing systems and managing outside counsel engagement and invoices.
• Strong ability to identify and close operational gaps in legal and compliance workflows.
• Knowledge of corporate governance and compliance best practices.
• Strong organizational and project management skills, with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work across teams and external stakeholders.

Ideal Candidate:

• Is a self-starter who is comfortable in a fast-paced environment, can proactively spot operational gaps, and work to implement solutions.
• Has prior experience that includes stints in law firms and inhouse, with responsibility for both paralegal and operations functions.    
• Has specific experience in litigation and investigations.
• Has experience implementing technology-focused Legal tools for areas such as but not limited to: legal research, e-billing, electronic signatures, contract workflows, matter routing, and subsidiary management.
• Enjoys supporting team members to plan, prioritize, and achieve complex deliverables across all Legal areas (Corporate, Commercial, Employment, Privacy, Compliance, Litigation, etc) on initiatives with a regulatory or legal touchpoint
• Can identify opportunities to simplify existing processes and develop standard operating procedures
• Is adept at building and maintaining cross-functional relationships, especially with colleagues in Finance and Human Resources
• Can communicate effectively with Turing team members at all levels, including company leaders, executives, and can do so in an all-remote environment
• Excited to take on new challenges and support Turing Legal as needed through one-off projects (e.g., entity/subsidiary formation); recurring business needs (e.g. equity plan administration); and any new functions that may arise

Compensation Range: $159,000 to $166,000 + Equity
