Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Probate & Trust Administration Paralegal with at least 3 years of relevant Florida experience. The ideal candidate is a Florida Registered Paralegal (or actively working toward it), highly organized, detail-oriented, and confident handling probate and trust administration files with minimal oversight.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Participate in client interviews and assist with fact gathering
- Guide clients through the estate administration process
- Review wills, codicils, and estate planning documents
- Coordinate with banks, brokers, businesses, and other entities to collect and verify asset data
- Communicate with creditors, debtors, accountants, and court personnel as needed
- Draft and file all necessary probate documents (petitions, inventories, notices, distributions, accountings)
- Assist with trust funding and implementation, including obtaining tax ID numbers
- Coordinate tax filings (estate, gift, fiduciary, and income returns)
- Prepare closing documents and finalize administration procedures
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of probate and trust administration experience in Florida
- Florida Registered Paralegal (preferred)
- Completion of a certified paralegal program
- Notary Public, or willing to become one
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Extreme attention to detail and organizational abilities
- Ability to work independently and within a structured team
- Strong client-service orientation
