Job Description:
JOB DUTIES:
- Provide leadership and oversight to two essential operational teams: groundskeeping and facility maintenance. These teams play a critical role in shaping the guest experience and overall appearance of the park.
o The maintenance team ensures the ongoing functionality, safety, and cleanliness of park facilities through regular maintenance and renovation work. Responsibilities include upkeep of cabins, the Peter Kiewit Lodge, Riverview Lodge, campground infrastructure, the Family Aquatic Center, indoor playground, and other park buildings and amenities.
- Conduct testing and maintain regulatory records for the park’s water system to ensure compliance and public safety.
- Assist with planning, coordination, and execution of special events.
- Collect and report data, maintain operational records, prepare written reports, and oversee the collection of park fees.
- Foster public engagement and communicate with community members to promote park programs and development initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements / Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in park/recreation management or a related field; (wildlife, fisheries, natural resources sciences, public administration, history, cultural resource preservation or interpretation, travel and tourism, and planning) AND two years related experience including one year in a supervisory or lead worker capacity. Related coursework/training and/or experience in park/recreation management or related field may substitute for the Bachelor’s degree on a year-for-year basis.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of park operations, Nebraska natural resources, and outdoor recreation.
- Ability to lead teams, communicate clearly with the public, and make decisions independently and collaboratively.
- Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting over 50 lbs., working outdoors, bending, climbing, and standing for extended periods.
- Skilled in facility and equipment maintenance and repair.
- Capable of maintaining records, preparing reports, and applying agency policies.
- Strong interpersonal skills to maintain effective working relationships.
