Position Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate, trustworthy, and attentive Caretaker to provide daily personal assistance and companionship to a client in their late 60s. The ideal candidate will be patient, reliable, and experienced in non-medical caregiving, with the ability to support mobility, assist with household tasks, and help maintain a high quality of life in a respectful and dignified manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide companionship, conversation, and emotional support throughout the day.
- Assist with light personal care tasks such as dressing, grooming, bathing, and mobility support (as needed).
- Prepare and serve nutritious meals and monitor food and fluid intake.
- Assist with medication reminders (not administration).
- Perform light housekeeping duties, such as laundry, dishes, and tidying up living areas.
- Accompany client on walks, errands, or medical appointments (if required).
- Encourage safe physical activity and mental engagement.
- Monitor and report any changes in health or behavior to family or supervisor.
- Ensure the client's comfort, safety, and dignity at all times.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a caretaker, home health aide, or companion caregiver (2+ years preferred).
- Ability to assist with light mobility or transfers if needed (client is in late 60s, not bedridden).
- Strong interpersonal skills and patience with older adults.
- Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license (if transportation is required).
- Must pass background check and provide references.
- CPR/First Aid certification is a plus.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus, but not required.
