Southern Art Music Initiative was founded in 2015 with the goal of passing on folk music and art music traditions with an emphasis on family and service. Since our inception, we’ve developed exceptional programming in partnership with several metro Atlanta schools and municipalities to provide after school clubs and in-home private lessons.
Our work environment includes:
- Growth opportunities
- Paid Training
- W-2
- Relaxed atmosphere
- Seasonal Bonuses
- Registration Commissions ($5.00 per Orientation Day signup)
Hands-On Music is a modular program, which allows us to offer age-appropriate challenges by grade. We meet once a week for an hour.
We focus heavily on music literacy and proper piano techniques. Our programs promote practice at home, via a practice app, and we firmly believe in putting an instrument in the hand of every child we work with.
We provide each student with a keyboard, which is theirs to keep, as well as take-home materials. This involves some parent engagement, and we provide resources to families to further encourage practice at home.
You will not be expected to carry dozens of instruments to set up at a school. Only up to 5 small keyboards in a bag, along with an iPad preloaded with all teaching materials which consist of age-appropriate standard curricula and proprietary lesson plans and teaching aids. The students will have their own instruments, so you will not need to rush to set up a class. All you do is escort students to the assigned classroom, help them settle down with a "Hello" activity, plug in your iPad, and start the lesson.
PAY:
Our pay structure puts the teacher in mind first. We respect your time and expertise.
IN-HOME PRIVATE LESSONS pay $50 per hour
