The Banking and Specialized Services Practice Business Consultant plays a pivotal role in driving operational excellence across the practice. This position is responsible for the planning and coordination across the practice and serves as a central point of contact for interdepartmental collaboration and leadership presentations. The role contributes to enterprise-wide success and supports the practice in delivering high-impact outcomes through clear communication, structured planning, and compelling visual storytelling.
Key Responsibilities
Executive Communication & Presentation Development
- Create high-quality PowerPoint presentations and leadership decks that clearly communicate strategy, progress, and outcomes.
- Translate complex information into visually engaging and easy-to-understand formats for senior audiences.
- Support leadership in preparing for executive meetings and strategic reviews.
- Maintain a repository of presentation templates, visuals, and messaging frameworks.
Planning & Coordination Support
- Support planning efforts across strategic initiatives and operational workstreams.
- Coordinate cross-functional projects, ensuring timely execution
- Facilitate collaboration across departments and provide status updates for leadership visibility.
Administrative & Operational Support
- Manage documentation, scheduling, and communications for practice-led initiatives.
- Prepare reports, dashboards, and summaries to support decision-making.
- Liaise with internal teams and maintain strong relationships across business units.
- Schedule and support the facilitation of meetings, workshops, and communications on behalf of the practice, generate meeting notes and share action items.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience creating executive-level presentations and visual materials.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and SharePoint.
- Familiarity with the banking business and enterprise tools.
Salary Range:
$83,100 - 141,300 USD
Salary range is a good faith estimate of base pay. Northern Trust provides a comprehensive benefits package including retirement benefits (401k and pension), health and welfare benefits (medical, dental, vision, spending accounts and disability), paid time off, parental and caregiver leave, life & accident insurance, and other voluntary and well-being benefits. Northern Trust also provides a discretionary bonus program that may include an equity component.
