BRIEF DESCRIPTION
The President of EH&B closely collaborates with the East’s CEO to set direction and execute key strategies for the EH&B Division. This role has managerial oversight of all of the departments within Consulting, Voluntary Benefits and Absence Disability & Life, as well as EH&B sales. This critical role fosters strong relationships with practice leaders and all colleagues across the East region, partners with carriers, vendors, and other colleagues within MMA. As a member of the executive leadership team, the President of EH&B creates and communicates a vision for all of the EH&B division, driving relentless pursuit of growth for the benefit of our clients and colleagues and fulfillment of East’s Objectives & Key Results (OKRs). This position will develop, define, and implement short and long-term strategies for the EH&B Division and for EH&B’s OKRs. Additionally, the President will work with company leaders to foster the growth of the EH&B division through organic development and acquisitions, guiding the department through organizational changes to support a rapidly expanding business, and consulting with clients, prospective clients, and carriers to establish and maintain strong business relationships.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to the following:
- Contributes to regional success by driving profitable growth, ensuring both agency, departmental and OKRs
- Leads the development of operational strategy and business plans to create an environment capable of supporting growth
- Supports the sales goals for EH&B Practice including strategy, planning and production. Accountable for new and renewal revenue business for EH&B Practice in the 100+ employee lives client segment.
- Demonstrates great understanding of the healthcare marketplace, healthcare financing, compliance, underwriting, account management, sales, customer service, product knowledge including voluntary benefits, ancillary lines, benefit administration, growth into other geographic markets, and employee benefit agency operations.
- Drives innovation and continually seeks better ways to serve clients
- Assesses and communicates trends in lost, new and renewal business across the region
- Builds and maintains strong, effective business relationships with All leaders across Marsh and all of the operating companies
- Works closely with local and regional EH&B Operations to develop project plans and achieve key deliverables; and ensures regular communication of progress to East leaders and EH&B colleagues
- Represents the East Region on monthly National EH&B calls and on the EH&B Strategic Leadership Team (SLT)
- Facilitate collaboration and cross-sell opportunities across offices in the East Region as well as other MMA regions and Marsh
- Identifies and communicates emerging industry trends, issues, and market intelligence to producers, clients, team members and leadership to drive growth and retention.
- Establishes a positive culture dependent on maximizing the strengths of each employee. Serves as a resource for individual EH&B Practice Leaders and team members, providing guidance and counsel to the team on aspects related to the business plan for the practice including development and implementation of policies, procedures and OKRs that enable the business plan goals to be achieved.
- Support annual budgets that reflect growth goals and business conditions and support strategic initiatives
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- Prior experience directly managing P&L in excess of $50M
- Prior experience managing teams across service and sales, with more than 100 direct or indirect reports
- 15+ years’ experience in Health and Welfare Consulting required, with specific sales or account management-related experience preferred
- Demonstrated ability to set and effectively lead multi-disciplinary teams towards accomplishing shared goals
- Strong operational skillset with demonstrated ability to strategically drive change across structure, process, and personnel
- Demonstrated experience with 200-1,000 life clients required, with specific experience operating at the C-level regarding negotiations, business development and relationship management
- Thorough command of employee health and benefits marketplace; demonstrated ability to lead application of technology solutions
- Effective analytical, math and problem-solving skills, sound judgment, strong decision-making ability, confidence to make difficult decisions and excellent communication skills
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Excellent financial and business acumen
- Must be organized, detail oriented and able to translate big picture ideas into client and agency objectives
- Strong organizational, management and account planning skills with analytical skills and strong attention to detail
- Work in a high production team environment with a high degree of complexity
- Ability to hold team members accountable for their responsibilities while delivering direct and actionable feedback. This involves setting clear expectations, regularly monitoring progress, and addressing performance issues promptly and constructively.
- Foster an environment of open communication, encouraging team members to seek guidance and support, and ensuring that feedback is specific, relevant, and focused on improvement.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including MS Word (Intermediate), Excel (Intermediate) and Access (Basic)
- Must be able to effectively interact with and deal with people at all levels inside and outside of the company

WORK LOCATION
- This role requires being based within 350 miles of our headquarters in Conshohocken, PA, with the expectation of being onsite, in our Conshohocken office, a minimum of two times per month.
- For those within a 40-mile radius of our Conshohocken office, work is performed in a hybrid manner with the expectation of being onsite, in our Conshohocken office, a minimum of two-three day per week.
