Scope of Work
Contractor, 10-15 hrs / week | Rate: $33 - $55 per hour | Three-Months
COURIER is looking for a contractor to own the development of a new weekly content calendar for COURIER’s principal and kickstart a new brand rhythm for her owned digital channels. Over the course of the contract, this role will also create, templatize, and post deliverables in an effort to optimize performance and refine the calendar across platforms.
The ideal candidate understands the power of delivering good information to Americans across the country. The contractor will work with the CEO’s office and report to the Chief of Staff.
Responsibilities
- Build a strategic content calendar to drive a narrative, promote media appearances, and optimize content performance for the CEO based on provided briefs and timelines
- Draft talking points, scripts, and guides based on existing messaging for face-to-camera videos.
- Based on project briefs and timelines, create eye-catching graphic content, interactive content to engage audiences, and adapt trends into short video content — all in ways that can be replicated after the initial calendar set up.
- Draft social media post copy that reflects the principal’s voice and is inline with industry standards and trends
- Provide regular updates and reports on post performance & optimize content for each social platform based on the findings.
- Track and analyze content engagement and retention metrics and provide insights to inform future social media strategy
- Travel to in-person events, primarily in NYC and Washington, DC, for live content-capture as needed.
Consultant Profile:
- 3–5 years of experience in digital storytelling, particularly creating high-performing social media content that is reflective of the individual’s, organization’s, or brand’s voice — experience creating content on behalf of a principal is a plus.
- Demonstrated experience in key social media platforms (TikTok, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube), algorithms, performance metrics, and best practices is required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Skilled project manager able to take ideas from pitch to publish on a deadline
- Creative mindset with a track record of generating innovative ideas
- Experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Descript, CapCut, Final Cut Pro, or similar
- Ability to accommodate irregular hours during specific high-priority events (i.e. conferences, presidential debates, press events, election nights, speaking engagements)
- Deep interest in democracy, civic media, and reaching underserved or values-driven audiences
- Strong background in political content creation or progressive journalism
Rate: $33/hr - $55/hr
