Production Specialist
We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Production Specialist to join the team. This role is critical in ensuring the efficient and accurate production/distribution of goods.
Monday - Friday 7am - 4pm
Responsibilities:
- Operating and monitoring production machinery according to company standards and procedures.
- Performing routine maintenance, cleaning, and light repairs on production equipment.
- Assisting with line tooling changes, start-ups, shutdowns, and downstream equipment setup.
- Working with various types of production machinery, potentially including packaging/bagging machines, blenders, gun screws, dryers, ingredient mixers, airlocks, couplers, conveyors, and blowers.
- Performing quality checks on finished products and packaging materials, potentially with documentation.
- Tracking quantity of units produced to ensure efficiency.
- Moving materials and items within designated areas, potentially utilizing forklifts on occasion.
- Maintaining organized inventory on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequences.
- Preparing parcels for mailing and shipping, including utilizing relevant software solutions.
- Loading and unloading delivery trucks and distribution vehicles according to customer specifications.
- Communicating effectively with team members regarding important information, processes, and concerns.
- Participating in safety training and strictly adhering to safety policies and procedures, including using Personal Protection Equipment (PPE).
- Maintaining a clean and organized work area, potentially including sanitation audits and corrective action plans.
- Recording production data as required.
- Assisting in other areas of production/distribution based on seasonal requirements or needs.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Ability to operate and maintain production machinery.
- Experience with packaging/bagging machinery and blenders is a plus.
- Ability to read prints and use various gauges may be required.
- Experience with CNC machines (lathes, vertical/horizontal machining centers) is a plus, and training may be available for capable candidates.
- Ability to perform repairs and light maintenance on equipment.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Commitment to safety and quality standards.
- Ability to lift and move materials, potentially including operating a forklift.
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
- Flexibility to work extended hours during peak season.
