Daikin Applied is seeking a Production Manager to direct, lead, and coordinate the people and activities involved in the production, assembly, and fabrication of equipment. Come be a part of an exciting journey at Daikin Applied, where innovation and excellence drive our every endeavor!
Location: In office, Staunton, VA.
What you will do:
- Lead the Production Team to deliver on the annual operating plan, implementing transformational change and delivery value, improving culture for long-lasting results
- Set and achieve short and long term SQDC objectives by implementing a strategic vision that is broken down into actionable strategies and tactics
- Ensure ownership and enable predictable outcomes for all production areas determining root cause of issues quickly, and effectively add countermeasures to support improvements
- Lead and drive the Daikin Production way with lean principles and continuous improvements enabling supervisors and their employees to be heard and remove barriers and create support from all cross functional departments
- Establish and sustain strong plant floor KPIs and daily management, GEMBA culture, and robust problem-solving methodologies
- Coach and develop supervisors to lead with a proactive management style
- Analyze engineering drawings, review processing schedules and production orders to make decisions concerning inventory requirements, staffing requirements, work procedures, or duty assignments considering budgetary limitations and time constraints
- Develop or implement production tracking or quality control systems, analyzing production, quality control, maintenance, or other operation reports, to detect production problems
- Initiate or coordinate inventory or cost control programs
- Communicate production goals using visual boards, workforce planning tools, and verbal instruction
- Investigate production errors through root cause analysis, identify solutions to error, and make recommendations to improve processes
- Direct shift supervisors as they coordinate workflow between departments and carry out production objectives at the lowest cost
- Monitor production activities to avoid delays and ensure adherence to production and shipping schedules
- Assure safety and product quality while improving production procedures
- Maintain production metrics, reports, and records
- Assist with capital equipment justifications for machine tools and process technology to improve quality, cost, and cycle times
- Lead Environmental Health and Safety activities ensuring all employees are properly trained and comply with safety measures and behaviors
- Hire, train, evaluate, or discharge staff or resolve interdepartmental grievances
- Set and monitor product standards, examining samples of raw products or directing testing during processing to ensure finished products are of prescribed quality
- Develop budgets or approve expenditures for supplies, materials, or human resources, ensuring that materials, labor, or equipment are used efficiently to meet production targets
- Coordinate or recommend procedures for facility or equipment maintenance or modification, including the replacement of machines

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in operations, management, engineering, or related field
- 6-8 years’ experience progressive responsibility managing the production and assembly of products and teams, including 4+ years’ experience leading people
- Demonstrated ability to manage conflict, build consensus, and facilitate problem-solving and collaboration among cross functional teams

- The typical salary for this position ranges from $90,000-$148,800 + 10% bonus eligibility in Virginia. The range displayed represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade which this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
