Position Overview:
The Production Supervisor is accountable for the day-to-day safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the site and is responsible for the Operations departments.
What you will be doing:
- Assist Operations Manager in hiring, training, and developing Operators, promoting accountability.
- Work with Operations Manager to document hourly recognition and/or discipline.
- Oversee daily operations.
- Address current issues and opportunities to improve by coordinating with other departments.
- Manage Operators’ work schedules.
- Ensure all log-sheets, inspections checklist, start up and shutdown checklists, and SOPs are current, accurate, and updated regularly.
- Monitor daily raw material and finished goods inventory levels and forecast future levels.
- Document work notifications on equipment issues found.
- Review, edit, and approve site SAP work notifications into work orders.
- Prioritize work orders with maintenance department through Planning and Scheduling meetings.
- Oversee shutdown, work execution, and start up with emphasis on safety, schedule, and quality.
- Support planning, execution, and documentation of turnaround activities.
- Review monthly safety inspections performed by operations.
- Manage water treatment program, including semi-annual program reviews.
- Review water treatment logs daily and the wastewater certification.
- Backup for end of the month inventory adjustments and reporting in SAP.
- Understand and comply with: All site and corporate HSE policies, including Life Critical Permit Procedures
- Properly inspect, use, maintain PPE in accordance with PPE matrix.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- 5 + years of proven experience in a supervisory or leadership role within a manufacturing environment.
- Basic math and reading abilities.
- Analytical/reasoning skills.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and people skills.
- Ability to thrive under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Proficient in using production management tools and production software (SAP, ADP, Office, Outlook, Word, Excel etc.)
