Starting Salary: $18.00
Employment Type: Hourly FT, Salary FT
Work Environment: Sunday – Thursday 11:00 pm – 7:00 am

Job Summary:
The Reclaim Operator is responsible for sorting fingerjoint blocks into individual bins. The Reclaim Operator will grade each block and assign a code to it’s grade by pushing a button on a panel.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Grade each block to the highest-grade possible.
  • Cutout all open joints from fingerjoint material.
  • Check after each break to make sure that material is going to the correct bin.
  • Clean the photo eye at the start of each shift.
  • Report output to leadership at the end of shift.
The Reclaim Operator will be asked to perform the duties of a Stacker on average 20% of the time.
Stacker:
  • Grade blocks of wood coming off of the line.
  • Stack wood on pallets while keeping an accurate piece count.
  • Band completed units.
  • Communicate with the Tally when units are banded and ready to be tagged.
  • Ability to work in and support other departments as needed.

Requirements:

  • High school or GED preferred.
  • Basic mechanical abilities.
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to work well with others.

Physical Demands:
The physical demands and work environment are representative of a typical manufacturing environment. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. Noise level is moderate to high depending on the area of the mill. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is often required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk and hear. Requires close vision, distance vision, and depth perception. Ability to occasionally lift 25 pounds and frequently lift 10 pounds. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
Travel:
This position does not require travel to other Woodgrain locations.
