Position Summary
The Regional Director of Clinical Care Delivery and Quality is responsible for the leadership, management, and operational execution of clinical excellence across assigned branches. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Clinical Care Delivery and Quality, this role ensures consistent delivery of outstanding patient care and outcomes, for every patient.
The Regional Director is accountable for implementing strategies at the branch level, driving 5-Star quality performance, ensuring compliance with regulatory and organizational standards, and cultivating a culture of transparency, collaboration, and accountability. This leader works closely with Director of Nursing, Clinical Managers, and interdisciplinary teams to achieve patient-centered outcomes while supporting staff engagement and development. This position operates within the RACI model to ensure clear communication and transparency. This role will be responsible for additional duties and assignments as the Hospice Division develops.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy
- Lead and mentor branch clinical managers and teams to achieve clinical and operational excellence.
- Ensure open communication and transparency with the VP, colleagues, and branch leaders to promote alignment with company mission and goals.
- Act as a role model for accountability, integrity, and commitment to patient-centered care.
- Execute initiatives set forth by the VP and corporate leadership, ensuring consistent adoption across branches.
Quality & Patient Outcomes
- Drive branch-level performance toward achieving and sustaining 5-Star ratings.
- Monitor and ensure adherence to SHP measures, including:
- TIC
- Functional Scoring & Improvement (SHP, STAR ratings)
- HOPE accuracy and measures
- ACH and Claims-Based Measures (hospitalizations, revocations, transfers, ED visits, readmissions)
- Actively oversee and improve patient satisfaction (CAHPS, SHP, QAPI).
- Ensure branch compliance with quarterly and annual QAPI requirements.
Operational Excellence
- Oversee branch execution of HOPE, Plan of Care (POC), and F2F processes with accuracy and timeliness.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (IDT) to ensure care plans are comprehensive and patient-centered.
- Ensure staff education and training is effectively implemented at the branch level.
Employee Engagement & Recognition
- Foster a culture of recognition, accountability, and professional growth across branch teams.
- Support managers in employee engagement initiatives and retention strategies.
- Model transparent leadership, encouraging collaboration and strong team culture across regions.
Measurement & Reporting
- Implement, track and report branch performance across SHP, STAR, CAHPS, and QAPI metrics.
- Provide accurate, timely updates and feedback to the VP regarding branch and regional performance.
- Utilize data to identify areas for improvement and collaborate with branch leadership to implement corrective action plans.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration preferred, or related field (required); Master’s degree preferred.
- Current RN license in good standing.
- 7+ years of progressive leadership experience in Hospice clinical operations preferred.
- Demonstrated success in achieving 5-Star performance and improving patient outcomes.
- Strong knowledge of SHP reporting, CMS regulations, and QAPI standards.
- Proven ability to manage teams across multiple branches and regions.
