Position Summary:
We are seeking a proactive Safety / HSE / DOT Coordinator to manage and oversee all health, safety, environmental, and transportation compliance programs. This role is responsible for promoting a strong safety culture, ensuring adherence to federal and state regulations, managing driver compliance, and maintaining up-to-date documentation for all safety and DOT-related matters.
Key Responsibilities:HSE Duties:
- Develop, implement, and monitor company safety policies and programs.
- Conduct regular safety meetings, new hire orientations, and ongoing safety training.
- Track employee certifications (e.g., H2S, First Aid, PEC/Safeland, forklift, etc.).
- Investigate incidents, near misses, and hazards; prepare reports and recommend corrective actions.
- Conduct field and yard safety inspections to ensure compliance with company and industry standards.
- Maintain Safety Data Sheets (SDS), Job Safety Analyses (JSA), and other required documentation.
DOT Compliance Duties:
- Maintain DOT driver qualification files and ensure all records are up-to-date.
- Monitor and manage ELD logs, hours of service (HOS), and vehicle inspection reports.
- Coordinate with drivers and dispatch to ensure DOT compliance for all company vehicles and drivers.
- Schedule and track vehicle maintenance and inspections per DOT requirements.
- Submit required filings and documentation for DOT audits or compliance checks.
General Compliance and Support:
- Assist in preparing documentation for insurance audits, client safety evaluations, and vendor compliance platforms (e.g., ISNetworld, Veriforce, Avetta).
- Stay current with federal, state, and local regulations related to OSHA, DOT, and environmental standards.
- Serve as a resource for employees on safety policies and safe work practices.
Qualifications:
- 2–5 years of experience in HSE and/or DOT coordination, preferably in the oil & gas or industrial services sector.
- Knowledge of OSHA, DOT (FMCSA), and environmental regulations.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with safety management platforms is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to conduct training.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Certifications such as OSHA 30, HAZWOPER, PEC Safeland, or similar are a plus.
Work Environment & Schedule:
- Primarily office-based with regular field and yard visits.
- Monday–Friday schedule with occasional after-hours or weekend availability as needed.
- Must be able to walk in uneven outdoor environments and occasionally lift up to 40 lbs.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
