POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for developing and executing strategic sales plans to drive growth in coupling agent and compatibilizer sales for plastic compounding and related applications. The role involves building and maintaining relationships with compounders, OEMs, recyclers, and other plastics processors, while staying attuned to customer needs and identifying opportunities to expand business with new and existing accounts. Working closely with customers, partners, and internal teams, the position develops innovative product strategies to increase market presence in automotive, packaging, industrial compounding, and other sectors, while providing thought leadership on emerging trends in technology, sustainability, and recycling.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage a portfolio of accounts to achieve sales goals.
- Establish trust with clients and serve as the point of contact to handle customers’ individual needs.
- Provide technical consultation during the product approval process, as well as ongoing technical support for commercial customers.
- Generate new business using existing and prospective customer networks.
- Report on the status of accounts and transactions.
- Monitor sales (e.g. monthly sales results and annual forecasts).
- Suggest actions to improve sales performance and identify opportunities for growth.
- Develop and implement product promotion strategies consistent with company vision.
- Collect and analyze feedback from customers, stakeholders and other teams to shape requirements, features and end products.
- Work with senior management to create product plans and roadmaps.
- Other duties as assigned.
WORK EXPERIENCE
- 2+ years of experience in sales, product management, or a technical position with strong customer contact involvement.
QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS
- Proven experience as a Sales Manager, Sales Associate, or similar role.
- Experience with business travel and face-to-face selling.
- Organizational and leadership abilities.
- Excellent communication skills, problem-solving aptitude, creative thinking skills.
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
- BS/BA in Engineering, Business, or related field or equivalent 4+ years of work experience.
- Basic computer skills required, knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint a plus.
- Basic math skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail, organized, and methodical mindset.
- Ability to multitask.
- Ability to work with a team or self-directed as required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to stand or walk for long extended periods of time.
- Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
- Must be able to bend and twist.
