Position Summary:
The Director of Finance and Operations is a key member of the school’s senior leadership team (SLT), responsible for ensuring the financial integrity, operational excellence, and long-term sustainability of CATS Academy Boston. In addition to overseeing the campus's facilities and budget management, this role will also lead the development and compliance of the school’s affiliated 501(c)(3) nonprofit, which will support student scholarships and philanthropic initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Finance Oversight
? Lead annual budget planning, forecasting, and financial analysis in coordination with the CGS central finance team.
? Monitor daily spend and long-term fiscal strategy across departments.
? Develop financial dashboards and KPIs for leadership visibility.
? Ensure audit readiness, vendor invoicing, and compliance with internal financial controls.
Facilities & Campus Operations
? Oversee all campus operations, including custodial, security, maintenance, and food service contracts.
? Maintain long-range capital improvement plans and preventive maintenance schedules.
? Ensure compliance with state/local regulatory and safety standards.
Strategic Projects & Organizational Development
? Build and manage the CATS Boston 501(c)(3) nonprofit, including governance, compliance, and scholarship disbursement strategy.
? Serve as a strategic partner to the Head of School in evaluating growth initiatives, sustainability efforts, and major campus improvements.
Risk Management & Compliance
? Lead all risk management practices, including insurance coverage, emergency response, and regulatory compliance across departments.
Leadership & Collaboration
? Supervise campus-based operations and finance staff.
? Ensure alignment of operational efforts with the school’s educational mission and broader CGS strategic goals.
Preferred Qualifications:
? Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or related field (MBA or equivalent preferred)
? 5–7 years of progressive financial and operational leadership experience (independent or boarding school setting preferred)
? Experience launching or managing 501(c)(3) entities
? Familiarity with U.S. and international education environments
? Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skill
