General Purpose:
The dispatcher is responsible for scheduling drivers to cover all farm pickup routes and scheduled deliveries.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Direct the daily distribution of raw milk loads to cover orders, maintain customer schedules and monitor for changes
- Contact drivers with daily delivery schedules
- Serve as contact for all customer changes and distressed loads.
- Monitor milk movements to assure all producers remain qualified during qualifying months and between Federal Orders. Maximize diversions and transportation credits where applicable
- Monitor secondary freight costs and work to minimize those costs when scheduling deliveries. Coordinate dispatching and maintain records of all loadouts
- Communicate customer issues to Field Manager. Communicate driver issues to Lead Dispatcher and Location Manager
- Be part of on-call rotation including periodic evenings, weekends and some holidays

Education and Experience
- One or more years of experience in dairy industry preferred
- High School diploma
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Excellent telephone, problem-solving, and people skills
- Good attention to detail and ability to multi-task
- Good computer skills including MS Office software (Excel, Word)
- Experience with SAP business software a plus
- Ability to switch between tasks frequently
- Answer general questions and direct callers to appropriate people
- Friendly and polite voice and demeanor
- Ability to operate in a team environment by communicating effectively
- Moderate level of mechanical aptitude
- Valid driver's license with no significant violations or restrictions
- Must be able to read, write and speak English
