Steel Rule Die Maker – Full-Time Opportunity
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Steel Rule Die Maker to join our precision manufacturing team. This full-time position is ideal for someone with hands-on experience in die making, tool and die fabrication, or folding carton manufacturing. The right candidate will be mechanically inclined, highly organized, and comfortable working with die-related machinery and materials.
Key Responsibilities:
- Fabricate and assemble steel rule dies using industry-standard tools and equipment.
- Read and interpret technical blueprints, CAD drawings, and job specifications to ensure accuracy and precision.
- Cut, bend, notch, and insert steel rule into laser-burned die boards with precision.
- Operate and maintain auto benders, notching machines, bridging machines, and other specialized die-making equipment.
- Construct and assemble blankers, strippers, counter plates, and cutting dies for various packaging and printing applications.
- Assist with local deliveries and logistics when needed.
- Load and unload waterjet cutter and laser cutting systems as required.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized tool room and work environment.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience as a Steel Rule Die Maker, Tool & Die Maker, or in a related precision manufacturing role (preferred but not required).
- Proficiency with measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and rulers.
- Ability to understand and follow detailed technical drawings, die layouts, and job travelers.
- Solid understanding of folding carton, corrugated, and commercial print manufacturing processes.
- Strong mechanical skills and a good grasp of basic math, geometry, and computer use.
- Leadership and communication skills are a plus.
