Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and responsible Summer Camp Teacher/Van Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for caring and teaching as well as safely transporting children to and from field trips, ensuring their safety and well-being during transit. This role is crucial in providing safe care and supervision of our school age children. The Teacher will also play a key role in fostering positive relationships with the children and their families.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a van to transport children to designated locations, including schools, daycare centers, and extracurricular activities.
- Ensure the safety of all passengers by adhering to traffic laws and regulations.
- Assist children in boarding and exiting the vehicle, providing support as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized van, ensuring it is in good working condition.
- Communicate effectively with parents, caregivers, and staff regarding transportation schedules and any concerns that may arise.
- Monitor children's behavior during transit to ensure a safe and respectful environment.
- Participate in training sessions related to childcare, special education, or other relevant topics as required.
Skills
- Experience childcare is highly required.
- Familiarity with special behavioral practices is a plus.
- Strong classroom management skills to maintain order during transportation.
- Background in childcare/daycare or related fields can be beneficial for supporting children's emotional needs.
- Ability to educate and engage children during transit to enhance their experience.
- Experience working with students or children in various settings such as camps or daycare facilities is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills to interact positively with children, parents, and staff members.
- A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required.
