Position Name: Tow Motor Technician

Position Summary:
The Tow Motor Technician is responsible for operating and managing industrial trucks to load and unload materials and finished goods within the production environment. This position works in a team environment to ensure finished goods are labeled and inventoried as per guidelines utilizing applicable software programs and items are prepared and loaded per client specification.
Job Responsibilities:

- Completes all pre-shift inspection checklists on all power equipment (daily before usage)
- Uses approved scanning technology to scan labels to ensure ERP system is updated to the location of the product while unloading/loading product on truck for delivery or accepting delivery.
- Responsible for ensuring that the correct product is loaded and quantities loaded are accurate and match inventory records.
- Subject matter expert on usage of palletization system
- Retrieve pallets coming off the system in timely and efficient manner.
- Checks pallets labels to ensure labels match product-ensures correctness prior to loading.
- Ensures infeed conveyor line is never more than 50% filled.
- Tow Motor Driver in maintaining palletization system by placing pallets, replacing plastic wrap within area, enters system to address system alarms, pallet failure or dropped box/item
- Safely stacks/unstacks/moves large quantities of goods on trucks and/or warehouse/storage locatios using tow motor.
- Knowledge and execution of wrapping finished product and printing ensuring that the pallet label matches the product on pallet.
- Reports mechanical or electrical tow motor concerns to Plant Maintenance Managers.
- Perform housekeeping duties for workstations.
- Perform all duties as directed/assigned by Supervisors, Shipping Manager, Assistant Plant Manager, Plant Manager.
- Comply with all safety rules, OSHA guidelines, GMP and PEE guidelines as well as any departmental/line specific work instructions and protocol.
- Comply with The Employee Handbook and all other Edge Plastics policies and protocols.
- Performs packing and line responsibilities as business needs require.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent education
- Basic computer knowledge using Microsoft suite.
- Proficient at the use of scanning guns used for product inventory preferred.
- Minimum of six (6) months experience driving power equipment
- Satisfactorily pass forklift driving training program or demonstrate safe handling of forklift in an on-site test.
- Valid state motor vehicle operator's license
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**
The Tow Motor Technician must have the following abilities:
- Must be able to physically move throughout large warehouse, on foot and/or via Tow motor
- Must be physically able to climb on/off power equipment (Tow motor) and operate per safety standards.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs repetitively.
- Must be able to visually inspect/identify products and read labels.
- Ability to learn and retain technical knowledge to operate palletization system.
- Read and comprehend written and mathematical instructions and ensure instructions are met and achieved upon review of completed product. Must be able to properly record quality related concerns as they arise.
- Must possess analytical and counting skills.
- Ability to communicate in professional tone and manner in both verbal and written means.
- Must be willing to move about and work in alternative departments on alternative projects as business needs require.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment in a collaborative team setting.
- Ability to multi-task with a high sense of urgency
