Account Executive (Ex-Construction)
Job description
About Aphex
At Aphex, we believe the best way to improve construction delivery is to give people the tools and time to do their jobs. That's why we're on a mission to transform how engineers and site managers plan, communicate and track their work every day.
Our customers are the industry's giants, building the tunnels, roads, bridges and power stations that define our cities. Our users are the engineers and project managers who make these projects happen. Since launching in the UK in 2019, we've become the dominant platform for infrastructure and major construction projects across the UK, Australia and New Zealand, with most of these countries' major infrastructure projects now running on Aphex.
We're now expanding into Europe and Asia. We've found strong product-market fit, proven we can scale internationally, and are building the team to do it again. Construction contributes around 10% of global GDP, yet has barely moved the needle on productivity in decades. We're changing that, and the market is responding.
The Role
This Account Executive role is perfect for someone ambitious who wants to change their career trajectory and be the architect of their own success. You'll join a high-performing Australian team of customer success and account management professionals. This role suits someone with a deep understanding of construction who wants to put that experience to work in a fast-moving, rewarding environment and shape their own path.
At Aphex, we believe deeply that we are in the business of successful construction project delivery. As an Account Executive, you'll embody this principle: establishing relationships, deploying projects that deliver value, then helping companies see that value and adopt it throughout the business.
The role focuses on ANZ accounts and report to our Sales & RevOps Lead, APAC. We've built the foundation, and now there's plenty of open field for you to run in.
Key Responsibilities
- Map and develop a deep understanding of projects, opportunities and key people across a set of target accounts
- Make contact with prospects through various channels, including LinkedIn outreach and relationship building
- Support our nurturing presence by maintaining an active professional presence on LinkedIn and industry channels
- Find and develop your own opportunities within assigned target accounts
- Manage inbound leads routed to your accounts through the complete sales process
- Conduct compelling product demonstrations that resonate with project challenges
- Lead the deployment process as architect of project success, with support from the customer success team
- Build bottom-up momentum within accounts while orchestrating top-down strategies
- Negotiate contracts and close deals that drive value for both parties
- Collaborate closely with customer success teams throughout the customer journey
- Consistently achieve quarterly and annual sales targets
Who You Are

- Personal Drive & Responsibility: You take ownership of your results and have a strong sense of urgency in getting things done.
- Growth Mindset: You're eager to learn, adapt and grow in a new role, with a hunger to continuously improve.
- Relationship Builder: You're a skilled communicator, confident engaging senior stakeholders and decision-makers.

Skills mentioned

Disconnected spreadsheets are slowing you down. The mess of files and documents used by construction delivery teams leads to miscommunication, wasted time, and mistakes. Engineers can't see each other's work, managers don't get timely updates, and plans are difficult to visualize. Aphex replaces the mess of spreadsheets, whiteboards, powerpoints, and printouts that plague construction delivery teams. By bringing construction teams onto one platform, Aphex removes the need to have multiple versions of the schedule circulating on site. With automated updates, reports, and visualizations — including maps, boards, and lists — everyone in your team will stay on the same page. Aphex allows engineers to quickly update and share their plans. This means your entire construction delivery team can finally sing from the same song sheet. Aphex automates reporting routines, giving your team definitive updates with complete data. Spot clashes, track reasons for delays, and take action before problems occur. Aphex lets you build your own custom view of the schedule, in the formats you need.
