Opportunity: Permanent full-time

Reports to: General Manager - Operations

The Opportunity

Home to 160+ independent living villas and apartments with services, Aspley Court Retirement Village is a close-knit community set amongst beautifully landscaped gardens.

As Community Manager, you’ll oversee the village’s operations, balancing resident satisfaction, financial performance and well-maintained facilities. This hands-on leadership role will see you build a strong customer-focused culture, drive operational improvements and support your small team to navigate challenges with empathy and sound judgement. Ideal for someone with experience in retirement living or a similar customer-facing operational environment, this role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference to residents’ lives.

Your Impact:

Oversee the day-to-day operations of the village, including compliance, safety & security, hospitality, on-site care and facilities management.

Foster a strong customer-focused culture through open communication, professionalism and regular engagement with residents.

Manage the community budget in partnership with internal finance teams and resident committees.

Partner with your on-site maintenance team, external contractors and Aveo’s Facilities team to maintain and enhance the village environment.

Lead your small team including recruitment, onboarding, learning compliance, rostering and performance management.

Demonstrate sound judgement and resilience when managing complex issues, difficult interactions and compliance obligations.

Collaborate with a broad range of internal stakeholders, including Facilities, Operations, Care, Marketing, Legal, Sales and Risk.

What you’ll bring:

Demonstrated experience in a customer-facing operations management role within a similar or related industry.

A proactive and self-motivated approach, with a strong focus on continuous improvement, financial performance and customer experience.

Proven ability to resolve complex resident concerns and guide conversations toward practical, fair and positive outcomes.

Strong financial acumen, including experience managing P&L budgets and confidence presenting to groups.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to quickly learn new systems, processes and legislation.
