As the Director of Marketing & Communications, you are not just leading the hotel's marketing, brand, public relations, and communications strategy. You are shaping the reputation, positioning, and commercial success of one of Australia's most prestigious luxury hotel destinations. Through strategic leadership, compelling storytelling, and innovative campaigns, you will bring the rebrand of the Imperial Hotel Gold Coast into the new LXR Hotel and Resort – Hilton’s first luxury hotel in Australia to life while spreading the light and warmth of hospitality through every guest touchpoint.
About the role
Reporting to the Commercial Director, and working closely with the regional Hilton teams, you will initially focus on delivering the new LXR Hotel and Resorts brand roll out and pre-opening tasks. Elevating the hotel's luxury positioning, strengthen brand reputation, and delivering impactful campaigns that connect with local, national, and international audiences.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Lead the development and execution of the annual integrated marketing and communications strategy aligned to hotel commercial objectives.
- Drive brand awareness, market share growth, direct revenue, and customer acquisition across all business segments.
- Develop and manage annual marketing budgets, forecasts, and performance reporting.
- Serve as the guardian of the Imperial Hotel Gold Coast and Hilton brand standards across all channels and guest touchpoints.
- Lead all public relations activities including media relations, press outreach, influencer engagement, executive profiling, and publicity opportunities.
- Support major hotel repositioning, refurbishment, rebranding, and pre-opening initiatives.
About you
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Business, Hospitality, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 6+ years of progressive marketing and communications experience, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role.
- Proven luxury hotel or luxury lifestyle brand experience is essential.
- Demonstrated experience in hotel pre-openings, repositioning projects, rebranding initiatives, or major hotel transformations.
- Strong expertise in brand management, public relations, media relations, communications, and reputation management.
- Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills with strong storytelling capabilities.
- Experience managing agency relationships, media partnerships, influencers, and external stakeholders.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to analyse performance data and identify revenue opportunities.
- Experience working within a global hotel brand environment is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in Hilton marketing platforms, Salesforce, Adobe Creative Suite, and digital analytics tools preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership capability with experience building, mentoring, and managing high-performing teams.
