EOI - RTI & Privacy Manager
Job description
We are seeking Expressions of Interest from experienced Right to Information and Privacy professionals for an upcoming opportunity within a large and complex organisation.
This senior role will support the organisation in maintaining strong governance standards, legislative compliance and ethical information management practices. You will provide specialist advice across right to information, privacy, information access, risk management and stakeholder engagement.
Key responsibilities
- Manage RTI and information access applications, including acting as decision-maker where required;
- Provide expert advice on privacy obligations, information access and legislative requirements;
- Manage privacy complaints, data breach assessments and risk mitigation activities;
- Contribute to Privacy Impact Assessments for projects, systems and business initiatives;
- Manage administrative access processes and third-party information requests;
- Develop guidance, training and resources to improve organisational capability;
- Build trusted relationships with stakeholders and provide practical, solution-focused advice; and
- Identify opportunities to improve privacy and information governance practices.
Key requirements
To be successful in this role, you will bring:- Significant experience in right to information, privacy, governance or information access within a large and complex organisation;
- Strong knowledge of the Right to Information Act 2009 (Qld) and Information Privacy Act 2009 (Qld);
- Experience providing privacy advice, managing risks and contributing to privacy impact assessments;
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders;
- Excellent analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills; and
- Relevant qualifications in law, governance, business administration or a related field, or equivalent experience.
