About the role

We're seeking a safety-focused Geotechnical Engineer to join our team at Federation Mine. Reporting to the Senior Geotechnical Engineer, you'll provide operational geotechnical support across underground development and longhole stoping activities, helping to deliver safe, efficient and productive mining outcomes.

Working closely with Mining and Technical Services, you'll be involved in ground support design, geotechnical inspections, stope performance reviews, risk management and mine planning input. Your technical expertise will directly influence operational decisions and support the ongoing success of one of Australia's newest underground base metals mines.

  • Roster: 8/6, 12 hours per day (Dayshift only)
  • Location: Federation Mine, Nymagee NSW

Travel options

  • DIDO if you live within an 800km radius of the Mine site which includes a travel allowance
  • FIFO from Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne

Qualifications and experience

  • Bachelor of Engineering – Geotechnical or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Must be able to work autonomously
  • Proficient in Deswik, CAD, RocScience, DIPS, UNWEDGE, FLAC3D, MAP3D
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and make sound technical decisions in support of mining operations
  • Experience with modelling
  • Strong technical writing skills
  • Strong safety focus
  • Committed to a positive, safety-driven, and collaborative work culture
  • Current ‘C’ Class Driver’s Licence
