About the Team

The Helpdesk team provides frontline support for government procurement and grants platforms used by Commonwealth agencies, Government Business Enterprises and suppliers across Australia. The team operates in a fast-paced environment, delivering high-quality customer service and technical support to ensure users can effectively access and utilise key government systems.

Working within a collaborative and supportive team, you will engage with a diverse range of stakeholders and play an important role in maintaining service delivery and user satisfaction.

About the Role

The Agency is seeking Helpdesk Officers to provide operational support across several government procurement and grants systems. This role is ideal for candidates who enjoy helping people, solving problems and working in a customer-focused environment.

You will be responsible for responding to enquiries, resolving system and access issues, managing incidents and providing support to a broad range of users. The role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities in a high-volume support environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide phone and email support to system users.
  • Respond to enquiries and assist users with system navigation and functionality.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve common system issues.
  • Manage user accounts, password resets and access requests.
  • Log, track and escalate incidents where required.
  • Maintain accurate records of enquiries, incidents and resolutions.
  • Support system releases, testing activities and operational priorities.
  • Prepare and maintain helpdesk documentation and knowledge resources.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and team knowledge sharing.

Must-Have Skills and Experience

  • Experience in a helpdesk, service desk, customer service or operational support role.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service and stakeholder engagement abilities.
  • Sound problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and administrative skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to learn new systems and processes quickly.
  • Experience working effectively within a team environment.

Highly Regarded

  • Experience supporting government systems or services.
  • Knowledge of procurement, grants or supplier management processes.
  • Experience working within a Federal Government environment.
  • Familiarity with ticketing, incident management or service management processes.
  • Understanding of government procurement or grants administration activities.
